"Whether an illness affects your heart, leg or brain, it is still an illness, and there should be no distinction." Michelle Obama
May is Mental Illness Awareness month. One in seventeen Americans live with a serious mental illness. One in five children has had a seriously debilitating mental disorder that they live with. One of of four families, have a relative that has a mental illness. It is all around us. From your neighbor to your yoga instructor to your uncle. Mental illness seeps through our veins and permeates our lives, yet it is still a stigma. Still a hush hush topic and an illness that we hide from the light of day.
