Today we had Mason's cake smash and first birthday portraits!
This morning I was busy setting up a rustic themed cake smash and first year portrait sessions. I typically like to start the session off with portraits on my type of "style" background. I love the neutral colors and how Mason is 100% the focus of the shoot. Sometimes when there is too much of a background and too many things around, it takes all the focus off of the subject. By starting off this way, it gives the client time to get comfortable with me and figure out what is going on. I received lots of hugs from Mason during this time. (I also thought about having baby number 3 for a mere second!)
Mason was a PERFECT angel during his portraits and gave us some many great shots!! Thanks Mason!! Next we did a little portrait shoot with the rustic theme just to give a little variation with the shoot.
Next came the cake! I ask parents to provide their own cake for this mainly because of allergies. My number one recomendation for cakes would be Cozy Cabin Bake Shoppe. www.facebook.com/CozyCabinBakeShoppe/?fref=ts Cake time!! This is always the fun part! You never know how a child will react with a cake. Will they love it? Will they hate? Are they going to throw it at me?! Mason was a perfect gentleman and kept the mess to himself but boy was there a mess!! Mason ROLLED through the cake as mom giggled in the background and I photographed it all.
While mommy was cleaning up Mason, I edited all the photos and showed Mason and his mommy. They had so many great images to choose from. We decided that an album for the coffee table would be the perfect product to showcase this fun shoot!!
Thank you Mason and Christie was a wonderful morning.
Grateful to have met you ;)
You wilSelf Value. What an incredible thought. A mere thought, right? Or is it an action? A feeling?
Self Value is the ability to see what you are worth, despite what others may think. You can not determine your self value based on someone's opinion of you. You find self value based on the love that you have for yourself.
For those of you that know me personally, know that I have an incredibly patient, kind and loving husband. This is the truth and this is something so hard to find. My hottie scottie was a man that I always loved from the day I met him, yet never thought I could attain. I did not think that I was good enough for him or a man this great could ever love me. Bad relationship after bad relationship, I was always spiraling and looking for the wrong type of person to love me. Because I didn't know my self worth or my self value. When I started to have confidence and find love for myself, that is when Scottie starting noticing me and we starting clicking. Till this day, I am still shocked that a man this great could love me. Me.
In turn, this is similar to my photography. Like most artists, we struggle to think we are good or worth being paid for. For years, as my photography skills grew and my confidence grew, I found my self value. I found love for my talent. Self Value also equates to your value as an artist. I am not a budget photographer. I am not $100 for as many digital images as I shoot. If you are looking for a talented, knowledgable and worthy photographer, that is me. And it is also an investment into me. You will treasure these portraits for the rest of your life. A portrait of your son at his first birthday. A portrait of your wife, the moment she finds love for herself again. A portrait of a family member that is no longer with us. A portrait that exudes love, embodies power and becomes an heirloom, a witness to your family.
Thank you for being on this journey with me.
Have you found your self value?
