'A sunrise is the promise of a beautiful day." Tristan 3 years old
Every morning, my two children, Tristan and Ashley, come and snuggle with me in bed and we watch the sunrise together. Every single morning. We say a little prayer and thank God for this beautiful gift.
Each sunrise is dramatically different from the next. The range of colors mystify and surprise us. I have my camera next to my bed and capture the sunrise I see through my lens.
Each morning, I can't help but start my day with such gratitude. For my life, my children, my husband and this beautiful view that I see. But it wasn't always like this. Growing up, I struggled with mental illness', depression and anxiety. I have experienced times in my life where all I could see was darkness and I never thought I would get through to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
One night, I tried to succumb to the darkness and prayed I would not wake up in the morning. I thank God everyday that I did in fact wake up. Because years later, my life today, would be the light at the end of the tunnel. Every morning, waking up to this beautiful sunrise, is in fact, the light at the end of the tunnel.
This is where The Gratitude Project was designed.
I wanted to share with everyone what we get to see. We wanted to share our inspiration, positivity and the love that surrounds each of us daily. We wanted to share hope and strength for those struggling.
For each print sold, we will donate a portion of the proceeds to , the suicide prevention life line organization, http://suicidepreventionlifeline.org.
There is hope. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
